Who is WCGS?

The Washington Council of County Surveyors (WCCS) was formed in 1992. We recent changed our name and charter to Washington Council of Government Surveyors to reach a broader membership base that includes all government surveyors.  Our mission remains the same to provide a forum for the exchange of information between and among surveyors engaged in work by and for governments and other related agencies and organizations; to provide an opportunity for peer group review; to enhance the learning of the members from the experiences of other surveyors engaged in similar work; to discuss and develop training techniques for its members and their staff; to provide for the exchange of information with other disciplines engaged in work by and for local and state government and other municipalities; to enhance the members skills and abilities to perform their professional assignments; to provide for technology transfer of new technologies, i.e. LIS, GIS, GPS; to enhance the profession of land surveying.
